When the DipJar is powered on, it displays HELLO. The DipJar will take a minute or two to ensure that it's ready to take donations. Dots will illuminate around the edge of the DipJar display throughout this startup sequence. Here's an explanation of what these dots mean:
- One dot: The DipJar just turned on and is performing a self-test.
- Two dots: The DipJar has finished its self-test and is searching for the cellular network. More dots will illuminate once a connection to the network is made.
- Six dots: The DipJar is checking for updates (Note: if a major update is found, the DipJar will continue to display six dots for up to 5 minutes, then reset. This is how the DipJar installs software updates and is normal behavior).
